The Stewards

The Lowrey family has farmed this land for five generations. They currently operate a 35-acre vineyard that produces craft wine grape varietals for customer wineries in the area.

Lowrey wine grapes have supplied some of Canada’s most prestigious wines by accomplished winemakers and garnered many awards. Current generations, Howard and his son Wes, tend to the vineyard with a focus on achieving the most characteristic and complex examples that their varietals can produce.

Every vintage, Wes selects a few rows of each varietal for use in crafting his Five Rows portfolio. The many years spent tending to the vines by hand, alongside Mom and Dad, allows for reliance on feel and instinct when assessing vine balance. By treating each vine as an individual that has unique needs and personality, he is able to optimize berry, cluster and canopy parameters to his specific preferences - mother nature willing, of course!
